Download and upload are measured by the OpenSpeedTest widget, an open-source HTML5 tool that runs on their servers and needs no plugin or app.

The latency test, the interface, the history and the public statistics are built specifically for this site. Latency is measured directly from your browser to each service, so it reflects your route to them rather than ours.

Signing in with Pi keeps your history with you rather than with one browser. The token Pi issues is verified server-side against the Pi Platform API, so the identity attached to your history is the one Pi confirms, not one the page claims.
